Beaconsfield Coastal House

This stunning coastal style, family home was dreamt up after our clients secured a great block of land in the area and were ready to build their forever home.

Initial plans had already been drafted with Spacewise Design, so in combination with the designer and clients we were tasked with thinking strategically about how we could bring this home to life through timber-frame construction and within budget. Working collaboratively from the start enabled designer, builder and client to all be on the same page from day one resulting in a better building process and overall result.

The single level 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is the perfect combination of style and practicality. The large open plan living area and clever layout connecting it to the outdoor areas create a functional family space; while the high raked ceilings in combination with strategically placed skylights ensure that the home is filled with natural light. Weatherboard cladding and black window and door framing on the exterior along with stunning blackbutt timber floorboards and neutral material choices internally helped to create the coastal look our clients desired.

Preparing the area with extensive earthworks and retaining walls allowed us to give the home a feeling of being nestled into the environment, as well as resulting in a front yard with privacy that still captures the afternoon sun.

Through the expert design and construction the home also exceeds energy efficiency requirements. Well-placed windows and doors create efficient cross ventilation. The high ceilings and skylights bring natural light into the home from morning until late afternoon. A grey water system was also installed to keep the gardens maintained through recycled water from the home.
